Cameroon vs Brazil - 2022 World Cup Betting Guide

Cameroon will play against Brazil in the final match of Group G. The match will take place on the 2nd of December at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail.

No team will want to face Brazil in their last World Cup group stage, and for Cameroon this will make their job of qualifying for the round of 16 all the more difficult. If they won at least one of their two other group games, which were against Serbia and Switzerland, they may be motivated to stop Brazil. Of course, it would also bring immeasurable joy and pride to the African nation if they do beat the top ranking team in the world. On paper, this will be Brazil's easiest game, as Cameroon is the lowest ranking team in Group G. They will see this as a chance to win some momentum for the round of 16, if they qualify.

Cameroon Team Info – Aiming for the Round of 16

Cameroon qualified for the 2022 World Cup after beating Algeria in the last round of the CAF World Cup qualifiers. The team, also known as the Indomitable Lions, scored 16 goals and conceded 5 in the 8 matches for qualification. They were ranked 53rd in the world at the start of the qualification rounds and have since climbed up to 38th place. In all their appearances at the World Cup, except for one, Cameroon have always been knocked out in the group stage. In 1990, the team managed to survive the group stage, coming first in a group that consisted of Argentina, Romania, and the Soviet Union. They then beat Colombia in the round of 16, but were knocked out by England in the quarter finals.

Cameroon, the country that produced Samuel Eto'o, has a team of players who play in leagues all around the world. Their striker and captain, Vincent Aboubakar, has scored 33 goals for his country in 87 appearances, and plays in the Saudi Professional League for Al-Nassr. Next to him in attack are Karl Toko Ekambi, who plays for Lyon, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who plays for Bayern Munich. In the midfield, they have Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Pierre Kunde, Georges Mandjeck and Martin Hongla, who play in the Italian, Greek, and Cypriot leagues. Their main defender is Nicolas Nkoulou, who plays in the Greek league, and in goal, they have Andre Onana, who plays for Inter Milan.

Brazil Team Info – Giants of the Tournament

Brazil will no doubt be amongst most punter's first selections for who will win the World Cup. Having won the World Cup 5 times in their history, there is a huge affinity for the World Cup in the country. They were ranked in third place in the world rankings in 2020, but managed to climb up to first place this year, after they smashed through their qualifier games. Brazil went undefeated, as they won 14 and drew 3 of their games, and they managed to score 40 goals whilst only conceding 5. Neymar, who has come under criticism over the years, may be able to make this World Cup the most memorable moment of his career. The forward has netted 74 goals for his country, and currently sits 3 goals behind the legendary Pele's tally of 77. If Neymar can win the World Cup for his country and equal or beat Pele's record, then he will surely secure his legacy in the Brazilian team in the minds of Brazilian fans.

The whole team is much better organised and has many new players who can help this happen. There are plenty of Brazilian players who have played in a previous World Cup, such as Gabriel Jesus, Roberto Firminho, Casemiro, Philippe Coutinho, Fabinho, Thiago Silva, Danilo, Marquinhos, Dani Alves, and Alisson. There are also players for whom this may be their first outing in the World Cup, including Lucas Paqueta, Antony, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Gabriel Martinelli, and many more.

Cameroon vs Brazil Head-to-head

Cameroon has played against Brazil 6 times, with 2 of those coming in World Cup group stage matches. The first was in 1994, when Brazil won 3-0, and the second was in 2014, when Brazil won 4-1. In their 6 meetings, Cameroon has won only 1, whilst Brazil has won 5 games. Most recently, the two teams played against each other in an international friendly in 2018, which Brazil won 1-0.

Cameroon vs Brazil Betting Preview

Brazil are the odds on favourite to win the match, and if you want to simply bet on them to win, you may find the odds are quite short. To ramp up the odds, you can bet on Brazil to win with handicaps, combine the bet to win with a bet on Neymar to score, bet on Brazil to win and score over 4 goals, and a lot more.

You can also find all these bets on Cameroon as well, but the odds will be extremely long. If you want to place bets on Cameroon with reduced risk, you can bet on Cameroon with a positive handicap, bet on Cameroon to score at least 1 goal, and more.

Asian Handicaps

Handicaps are bets on a team to win by a certain number of goals or more. You can pick one of the negative numbers which will be subtracted from the team’s score and they have to overcome the deficit of goals and win the match. Alternatively, you can use reverse handicaps that add goals to a team’s score. The higher the negative number, the longer the odds will be, whilst the higher the positive number, the lower the odds will be.

If you pick Brazil to beat Cameroon and apply a handicap of -2.5 then the bet will require them to finish the match 3 or more goals ahead of Cameroon. If you apply a handicap of -3 then Brazil will need to win the match by 4 or more goals, however, if they only win by 3 goals then the scores will be level and you will receive a refund.

If you apply a handicap of -2.75 then half of your stake will go on a handicap of -2.5 and the other half will go on a handicap of -3. If Brazil wins by 4 or more goals then you will receive your full winnings, but if they only win by 3 then the -2.5 bet portion of your bet will pay out in full whilst the -3 portion of your bet will be refunded.

Over/Under Total Goals

With total goals you will have to predict how many goals both teams will score in a game. Using the over/under format, you can pick a line and bet over the line or under the line. For example, if you choose a line of 3.5 and bet over, then you will need Cameroon and Brazil to score a combined 4 goals or more. However, if you bet under that line then you will need Cameroon and Brazil to score a combined 3 goals or fewer.

Player Goals

You can find the odds on all your favourite players to score in the game with player odds. You can bet on the likes of Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Vincent Aboubakar and Karl Toko Ekambi, provided they will be playing in the match. There are also bets on which player will score the first goal and which player will score the last goal.
